The Viewpoint Diversity Score evaluates how companies perform across three areas of impact — using publicly available policies and practices.
How Scores Work
Each company is evaluated across three areas — the marketplace, the workplace, and the public square — using publicly available policies and practices.
Marketplace
How the company treats customers, users, sellers, creators, vendors, and organizations with different religious, political, or ideological beliefs in the marketplace.
- Terms of service avoid viewpoint discrimination
- Harmful-conduct policies apply equally to everyone
- Vendors aren’t penalized for their beliefs or DEI practices
Workplace
How employee policies handle religious expression, accommodation, and viewpoint diversity.
- Written religious accommodation policy and process
- Faith-based employee resource groups recognized
- Employee giving programs include all charities
Public Square
How a company engages on contested public issues, legislation, and advocacy.
- Political spending doesn’t undermine free speech
- No support for groups hostile to fundamental freedoms
- Public messaging avoids divisive concepts
What the Score Tiers Mean
Every company lands in one of four tiers based on its overall score.
Scores range from 0–100% and reflect only publicly available information at the time of review. A low score is not an accusation of wrongdoing — it signals policies that may restrict free expression or religious freedom.
