Jeremy Tedesco
Senior Counsel and Senior Vice President, Counter Censorship Task Force
Jeremy Tedesco serves as senior counsel and senior vice president of the Counter Censorship Task Force at Alliance Defending Freedom, where he leads efforts to confront coordinated systems of corporate and state-sponsored censorship in the United States and abroad. He directs a cross-functional, cross-Atlantic initiative combining litigation, legislation, corporate engagement, research, coalition-building, and communications, coordinating efforts across the organization to address censorship at its most influential points.
In 2022, Tedesco spearheaded the launch of the Viewpoint Diversity Score Business Index and continues to lead its strategic direction. The Index measures how major corporations respect free speech, religious freedom, and viewpoint diversity across the marketplace, workplace, and public square. Its findings also support shareholder engagement with companies including Apple, IBM, JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, and Meta. The premier benchmark for measuring corporate respect for free speech and religious freedom, the Business Index scored 150 corporations across 30 performance indicators in its fifth year (2026).
Earlier in his career, Tedesco litigated First Amendment cases throughout the federal court system. He was part of the legal team in Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission and served as lead brief writer in the U.S. Supreme Court victories Reed v. Town of Gilbert and Arizona Christian School Tuition Organization v. Winn.
His work has also focused on political and religious debanking, corporate viewpoint discrimination, and the effects of ESG and DEI policies on free expression and religious liberty. He has testified before Congress and supported legislative and shareholder efforts designed to improve corporate transparency and protect customers, employees, shareholders, and faith-based organizations.
